# Utarlo

> Utarlo is a free Android app that works as a GPS station alarm for Mumbai local trains. It rings a loud alarm before your station on the Western, Central or Harbour line, even with the screen locked. No account, no sign-up, and location never leaves the phone.

## How it works

1. Pick your destination station on the Western, Central or Harbour line (search by name or station code).
2. Set an alert radius from 0.5 to 10 km (default 2 km).
3. Lock your phone. Utarlo tracks GPS in the background and rings when the train enters the radius.

## Features

- Screen locked: Keeps tracking with the screen off and the phone in your pocket. A notification shows it’s on duty.
- Loud alarm: A proper alarm with vibration, not a polite ping. Use your own alarm sound, and test it before you doze off.
- On-device: Your location never leaves your phone. There is no Utarlo server to send it to.
- Free, no sign-up: Free to use. No account, no email, no phone number. Open it, pick a station, done.

## FAQ

### Will it drain my battery?

GPS uses some battery, so Utarlo only tracks while a journey is active. Get off, stop the journey, and tracking stops with it.

### Do I need mobile data?

No. The station list is built into the app and GPS works without internet, so it keeps working in a coach with one bar of signal.

### How accurate is it?

As accurate as your phone’s GPS. Covered platforms and crowded coaches can make it drift a little, which is why you set a radius. 2 km works for most slow locals; go wider on fast trains.

### What if my phone is on silent?

Before your first ride, tap Test alarm in the app and check that you can hear it with your usual settings. Vibration is on by default too.

### Which stations does it cover?

Every station on the Western, Central and Harbour lines. Search by name or code.

### Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Utarlo is available now on Android; iOS is coming soon.

### Do you see where I go?

No. Your location is used on your phone to measure the distance to your station, and nowhere else. We don’t run a server that could receive it.
